Baofeng BF-A5 5W UHF Two-Way Radio

The BF-A5 is a simple, low-cost UHF radio for everyday team communication in homes, hotels, shops, schools, and small sites. It transmits at 5 W across 400–470 MHz, which suits buildings and compounds where UHF signals get through walls and between floors better than VHF.

It supports 39 CTCSS and 83 DCS codes to keep each group's conversations separate, VOX for hands-free talk, voice prompts, a busy-channel lock that stops users talking over each other, and a battery saver and low-battery warning. It also has an FM radio receiver and can be programmed from a PC.

For small teams it is a practical, affordable choice; where you need more range or more channels, we would suggest a higher-power model instead.

Radios must be programmed to frequencies your organisation is licensed to use. We programme each unit before handover so they work together out of the box.
