Hikvision DS-7616NI-E2/16P 16-Channel 16-PoE NVR

The DS-7616NI-E2/16P is a 16-channel Hikvision recorder with a PoE port for every camera, so each IP camera needs only one network cable for power and video. It suits homes, shops, schools, and offices moving to IP cameras without buying a separate PoE switch.

It records IP cameras up to 6 MP and decodes up to six 1080p channels at once for live view on its HDMI and VGA outputs (up to 1080p). Two SATA bays hold the recordings, and a gigabit network port connects it to your router for remote viewing.

The recorder handles smart events (VCA) from compatible Hikvision cameras, such as line crossing and intrusion, so alerts and playback searches focus on real incidents. It has one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port for exporting footage.

This is an earlier Hikvision generation; for 4K output and 8 MP cameras we recommend the DS-7616NI-Q2/16P. We size the hard drives to how many days of recording you need to keep, and connect the recorder to a UPS or inverter so it keeps recording through power cuts.
