The Thuraya X5-Touch was the first Android smartphone to work on both satellite and GSM networks. It has two SIM slots, one Thuraya and one GSM, active at the same time. Users get normal smartphone apps, email, and maps in town, and satellite voice and data in the field.
It has a 5.2-inch full-HD touchscreen with toughened Gorilla Glass. The body is rated IP67 against dust and water and built to MIL-STD-810G for shock and vibration. The battery gives up to 11 hours of talk time and 100 hours on standby. A dedicated SOS button sends an emergency call or message.
Thuraya's network covers Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, including all of Nigeria, but not the Americas. Thuraya now lists the X5-Touch as a legacy product, so if it is out of stock we will quote the current Thuraya equivalent.
