Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I 4MP IR Bullet Network Camera

The DS-2CD2042WD-I is a 4 MP outdoor bullet camera from an earlier Hikvision generation, still a solid choice for gates, driveways, and building perimeters on existing Hikvision systems. It records 4 MP at up to 20 fps, or 1080p at up to 30 fps if smoother motion matters more than resolution.

120 dB WDR balances bright sky and shaded areas in the same frame, and infrared covers up to 30 m at night. The 4 mm lens gives an 83° view for general coverage; the 6 mm version (55.4°) suits a narrower, longer view such as a driveway.

It takes power over PoE, so one network cable carries power and video back to the NVR.

As an older model it uses H.264 compression rather than H.265, so recordings take up more hard-drive space than newer cameras. For new installations we often recommend the DS-2CD2043G0-I; for expanding an existing system, this camera matches older recorders well. We confirm compatibility with your NVR before supplying.
